Summer has officially arrived, and we are bringing six weeks of free nature, wildlife, and theatrical wonder to Cardiff Bay!
Join us every Thursday from 23rd July to 27th August under the giant Big Green Leaf installation in Tacoma Square. Led by our team of charismatic Eco-Explorers, these completely FREE interactive workshops run every 30 minutes between 11am and 4pm.
Every week features a brand-new nature theme, captivating storytelling, and a hands-on craft or exciting giveaway your little ones will love!
- 23rd July – A Bug’s Life: Discover mini beasts and build a miniature Bug Hotel to take home!
- 30th July – Flower Power: Explore local wildlife and craft a beautiful Flower Crown.
- 6th August – Worm Wonders: Enjoy interactive storytelling and grab a free Sunflower giveaway!
- 13th August – Easy Bee-zy: Learn about pollinators and craft a Bee Finger Puppet.
- 20th August – Under the Green Leaf: Create leaf-rubbing art and collect a Sunflower giveaway.
- 27th August – Butterfly Flutterfly: Learn the butterfly lifecycle and make a real butterfly feeder
Butterfly Trail:
The fun doesn’t stop with the workshops. All summer long, explore the centre to find our 3 giant Butterfly Wing installations.
They make the perfect summer photo opportunity for the whole family! Snap a family photo and upload it to social media, tagging the centre @MermaidQuay and using the hashtag #ButterflyTrail to enter our exciting summer prize draws!
