Refill Mermaid Quay

REFILL MERMAID QUAY IS BACK

Today (Wednesday 16 June 2021) is the first ever World Refill Day and, to mark the occasion, we are relaunching REFILL Mermaid Quay so that you can save money, stay hydrated and help prevent plastic pollution at source by refilling your water bottles for FREE at various Mermaid Quay businesses.

Refill is a UK-wide campaign to reduce plastic pollution by making refilling a water bottle as easy, convenient and cheap as possible, with water Refill Stations on every street. The Refill app, which you can download for free, shows you where you can refill your water bottle.

REFILL Mermaid Quay was originally launched in June 2019 – you can read more about the launch here. However, many venues were unable to provide free refills when the Covid-19 pandemic was at its height.

Now, however, a total of 6 Mermaid Quay venues are back providing free water refills to members of the public as part of the REFILL Mermaid Quay project:

In addition, you can bring your own reusable mug/flask for takeout drinks from:

  • Cadwaladers (please note that they will be wiped down with a sanitising wipe upon being handed over)
  • Costa

About Refill

Refill is one of several campaigns from City to Sea, the not-for-profit organisation running campaigns to prevent marine plastic pollution.

Refill launched in Bristol in 2015, and there are now over 13,000 Refill Stations around the UK registered on the free Refill app which shows you where you can refill your water bottle for free.
