A WHOLE NEW BALL GAME…AT PIZZAEXPRESS

Hold on to your Dough Balls, it’s gonna be one hell of a ride.

When PizzaExpress founder, Peter Boizot, opened his first pizzeria in London in 1965 he brought more than just pizza… he created an entire new dining culture in the UK. In 2021 PizzaExpress is going large on innovations again and this summer has it all: new Dough Ball recipes on new menus, new deals on new supermarket products, a new brand look on its brand-new website, stunning, new food photography, new charity partnerships, plus a whole new creative, some fancy new social content, and overall a brand-new attitude.

Kicking things off is a brand-new summer menu with 16 new dishes alongside the traditional favourites, all of which are a guaranteed feast for the senses.

Dough Balls take centre stage with three new recipes joining the menu – loaded pesto and tomato, hot jalapeño (vegan with a bit of spice) and an indulgent baked cheese choice *insert cheesy line about Dough Balls*. There’s big news for pizza too, with the launch of the new Romana BBQ Burnt Ends pizza (spilling with summer BBQ flavours from the crispy-caramelised ends of a 12-hour cooked beef brisket) and the highly anticipated Sloppy Vegan (Sloppy Giuseppe’s vegan cousin).

Building on its loud and proud, 60-year music heritage, PizzaExpress has also launched a new national charity partnership with Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy. As the largest independent music therapy charity in the UK, their vision is that through the power of music, human potential is recognised, witnessed and celebrated regardless of profound disability, illness or social exclusion. Along with fundraising initiatives as part of the partnership, 25p of every Padana pizza sale will go directly to the charity.

Shadi Halliwell, Chief Customer Officer at PizzaExpress said:
“Innovation has been at the heart of PizzaExpress since Peter Boizot first introduced ‘casual dining’ in the 1960s. We’re very excited to be taking this to the next level in 2021, with delicious new flavours and dishes that customers can enjoy in our pizzerias, at home and everywhere in between!” As always we’ve listened intently to customers and worked tirelessly with our experts to develop our ideas to perfection. This is PizzaExpress going back to its roots, strengthening the brand for years to come. Our reinvented brand is strong, bold and ready to make some noise.”
