Work has now started on fitting out the new Hubbox in Mermaid Quay and the award-winning restaurant is due to open in early May.
Hubbox is a small, independent chain from Cornwall. Mermaid Quay will be its first restaurant in Wales.
Serving up award-winning burgers, hand cut fries and crafted drinks, Hubbox is a laidback place to meet and eat. Prime cut or plant-based, for Hubbox it’s all about tasty food done the right way, making good times really mean good. They are fiercely proud of the suppliers they work with – whether it’s the 28 day aged, rare breed high-welfare beef, outdoor-reared pork bratwurst, or small batch beers with a conscience.
“We’re as fired up by our Cornish roots as the food we serve. Life on the coast has schooled us in fresh-thinking and straight talking. Which means giving a damn about the chips on our plates, and the farmer supplying our potatoes to make them. Staying loyal to the producers who think like we do, supporting our team in high season and low, caring where we source our electricity and reducing how much waste we send to landfill. It means being aware of our local communities, beaches and green spaces – wherever we are. It all adds up to a better burger, hot dog, coffee break or whatever takes your fancy. That’s how we make sure the good times roll. By making sure that behind the scenes, it’s all good too.”
