Last year we donated our gorgeous recycled GreenHouse to Mount Stuart Primary School, just around the corner from Mermaid Quay in Cardiff Bay.
One year on and following a recent visit to Mount Stuart Primary School, we are very pleased and proud to report that the school’s Gardening Club in years 3 & 4, are making excellent use of their GreenHouse. The green-fingered pupils are clearly enjoying the practical experience of gardening and taking responsibility for growing their own fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers, all of which they have planted from seed.
As summer approaches, the school’s GreenHouse currently contains an impressive and wide range of produce, including: strawberries, lettuce, spinach, broad beans, runner beans, potatoes, cucumber, radish, lemon balm, dill, garlic, sweet peas and sunflowers.
This is a busy time of year for all gardeners and Mermaid Quay wishes the Gardening Club at Mount Stuart Primary School every success for what we’re sure will be a bumper crop.
We will be checking in with the GreenHouse again at a later date, but in the meantime, here are a selection of photographs that show it could not have found a better home.
