Mermaid Quay will soon have a paw-some canine addition: HusQuay the Merdog, a 1.5m tall hand-decorated statue of the Raymond Brigg’s inspired Snowdog. HusQuay forms part of the Snowdogs: Tails in Wales public art trail in aid of Tŷ Hafan, Wales’ leading children’s hospice.  Keep your ears pricked for news and events about HusQuay the Merdog.

f22 photographic exhibition

f22 is inspired by a lens aperture setting that helps to establish depth-of-field and light. Mike & Dave met through a joint love… of photography whilst studying at the University of Luton. They have been exhibiting their photographic work together for the past four years in a number of galleries across England and Wales.

The two photographers produce both traditional SLR and DSLR and work mainly in the landscape genre, taking inspiration from the ‘great outdoors’.

Pottery Day with Billy Adams

Craft in the Bay

Billy will teach you how to create pots on the wheel – learning about clay preparation, centering and shaping your clay to make forms incuding bowls, vases, mugs and lidded vessels. There will also be the opportunity to try out some hand building techniques through the day to create functional or sculptural work. All work can be fired at Craft in the Bay and collected a few weeks later. Aprons available. 10:30am – 16:30pm.

Do It Your Elf!

Between 12-4pm, children and families are invited to drop into a free craft workshop where they can design and take home their very own Elf hat with the help of some of Santa’s most trusted elves! The Volvo Ocean Race

For the first time in its history the Volvo Ocean Race fleet will stop in Cardiff, Wales on its race around the world. From 27 May to 10 June 2018 The Volvo Ocean Race festival site, called the Race Village, will be located on the scenic Cardiff Bay Barrage.

The two week free event will host a variety of entertainment and Volvo Ocean Race-themed attractions… So put it in your diary now, it’s going to be too good to miss!
