National Eisteddfod comes to Cardiff Bay

The Eisteddfod is the largest travelling festival in Europe, and it’s coming to Cardiff from 3-11 August, so don’t miss the opportunity to be part a fantastic celebration in Cardiff Bay. This is the Eisteddfod’s first visit to Cardiff for ten years, so make sure you’re there to see plenty of shows, events and activities all day every day.

This year’s festival is very different! Using a combination of the Bay’s iconic buildings and an attractive mixture of temporary yurts, tepees and tents, the festival is a unique experience for everyone. With over 1,000 different events taking place during the week, there’s something for everyone of all ages.

There are over a hundred stalls and stands of all shapes and sizes showcasing the best in Welsh products and all kinds of gifts. Come and enjoy live performances on the Open Air Stage throughout the week, or why not call into the Wales Millennium Centre for a taste of the hundreds of competitions on the world-famous stage?

There’s a visual arts exhibition in the Senedd, and a special centre – Shwmae Caerdydd – in the Pierhead Building for anyone interested in learning Welsh or want to find out more. You don’t have to speak Welsh to enjoy the Eisteddfod – there’s free translation for lots of activities. Look for the translation logo and pick up your free translation equipment.

The Eisteddfod is the place to come to socialise with friends new and old in the attractive and memorable surroundings of Cardiff Bay. So make sure you’re part of an amazing week to remember in Cardiff in August.

Tickets available from 3 April. Go online for more information – www.eisteddfod.wales, or ring 0845 4090 900. Programme online from May.

See you in the Bay from 3-11 August!
